Compare the 1/8 scale OVERLORD CZ2128 figure with the non-scale Marin figure to decide which fits your collection.
Quick Answer
If you want a display centerpiece with premium detail, choose the 1/8 scale OVERLORD CZ2128 figure. If you prefer a budget-friendly, playful addition, the non-scale Marin Kitagawa figure is a better fit.
What the Scale Difference Means
Scale figures are designed to a specific ratio, like 1/8, which means they're proportionally accurate to the character's official height. This often results in a larger, more detailed piece that stands out in a display.
Non-scale figures, on the other hand, are made to an arbitrary size. They can be smaller and more affordable, but you lose the consistent sizing that scale collectors often value.
Detail and Presence: The 1/8 Scale Advantage
The OVERLORD CZ2128 1/8 scale figure is based on a special 10th-anniversary illustration by so-bin. It features a customized maid uniform with camouflage patterns and metal armor, plus a detailed magic gun on her shoulder. This level of sculpting and paintwork is typical of scale figures and gives them a commanding presence on a shelf.
If you're a fan of OVERLORD and want to celebrate the series in a big way, this figure captures that anniversary moment with extra care.
The Non-Scale Appeal: Affordability and Versatility
Non-scale figures like the Marin Kitagawa Detective Ver. are often smaller and less expensive. This one captures Marin's playful personality in a green detective outfit with intricate costume detailing, but at a fraction of the price of a scale figure.
They're great for casual collectors, for trying out a new series, or for filling out a shelf without a big investment. You also have more flexibility to pose them in different settings without worrying about scale consistency.
Which One Should You Choose?
- Go with the 1/8 Scale Figure if...: You want a high-detail display piece that celebrates a special OVERLORD anniversary with unique camo and metal armor. Check your shelf space—1/8 scale figures need more room.
- Go with the Non-Scale Figure if...: You're on a budget or want a smaller, playful figure that doesn't demand premium shelf space. Non-scale figures are easier to display in groups.
- Consider Both if...: You collect multiple lines and want both a centerpiece and a casual addition. They serve different display roles. Think about your overall collection balance.
